Wind Turbines and Health – A North American Perspective

The purpose of the workshop will be to present an overview of the state of the debate surrounding wind turbines and human health from a North American perspective. Presentations will be given by Drs. Loren Knopper, Christopher Ollson, Robert McCunney, MD, Ben Coulson, M.A.Sc., P.Eng and Albert M. Engel, B.Sc. (Hons), LL.B., M.E.S.

Topics covered will include both a U.S and Canadian perspective on medical and scientific literature, opposition positions and updates on issues such as low frequency noise, annoyance and indirect health effects. There will be presentations about noise, noise measurements and what the industry needs to be aware of in terms of tribunals and legal cases.

A review and discussion of the recent Health Canada study will also be covered during this important workshop.
